Sorkheh

Sorkheh city is located at latitude 29 and 35 (thirty five degrees and twenty nine minutes) north of the equator and longitude 53 and 12 (fifty three degrees and twelve minutes) east of the prime meridian. This city is located at an altitude of 1150 to 1000 meters above sea level on the edge of ‌  It is located in the north of Dasht Kavir, and this city is located in Semnan province, 180 km east of Tehran and 20 km from the center of the province. Its area is 9222 square kilometers

Historical background of Surkha: The oldest writer who mentions Surkha in his book "Ben Raste" is . More than 1150 years ago, he introduced Sarkheh as a city next to the city of Semnan in his book "A'aq al-Nafisa".
Based on the works left behind, the names of the neighborhoods and alleys of the gardens, and the dialects of Sarkhei, the experts believe that the city and the people of Sarkhei belong to the Sassanid period.
