Sorkheh city is located at latitude 29 and 35 (thirty five degrees and twenty nine minutes) north of the equator and longitude 53 and 12 (fifty three degrees and twelve minutes) east of the prime meridian. This city is located at an altitude of 1150 to 1000 meters above sea level on the edge of ‌  It is located in the north of Dasht Kavir, and this city is located in Semnan province, 180 km east of Tehran and 20 km from the center of the province.
