Shahroud city with an area of about 43 thousand square kilometers and a population of 230 thousand people is the first city of Semnan province in terms of size and population. This city is bordered by Golestan province from the north, Isfahan and Yazd provinces from the south, Khorasan Razavi province and Miami city from the east, and Damghan city from the west.
The historical age of settlement in the Shahrood region, based on the speculations of archaeologists and excavations, reaches a thousand years before Christ. The works found in the excavation of the hill of Bulwarkhod are proof of this claim. The name of the city of Shahrood is included in the sixteen names of the Aryan land. .
Some people believe that the name Shahroud was taken from the nearby river, and others believe that Shakhra means strong and powerful, and the Aryans built it. This city is 390 kilometers northeast of Tehran with 1400  meters above sea level and different geographical climates, it contains the largest wildlife shelters and protected areas, and including the existing prohibited hunting areas, it is known as a small continent and the land of five climates.
This climatic diversity is so obvious that the shortest distance between the desert and the forest is in this city, so that by traveling a short distance of about 45 kilometers from Shahrood to the north, you will reach the Hyrkani Abar forests with the most beautiful views (the oldest forest in the world). ) and by traveling the same distance to the south, we reach the desert and the beauty of the Chah Jam region and finally we reach Troud and its groves, where the people of that region are engaged in camel farming. This variety of climate along with the diversity of ethnic groups and different ethnic and linguistic groups has determined the characteristics and ability of development in this city.
